I was inspired to create “Corporate Religion” to give voice to the decay of our social middle class. Some corporate entities mislead their workers into believing in security, then play the martyr knowing well in advance that the promises are empty. I used the Oscar with a crown of cannabis beautifully staked out with rubies, crucified on a cross of dirty money to portray this dazzling performance of betrayal.
